![]() ![]() There are two types of songs here- the really fast ones and the fast ones that slow down and then speed up again. ![]() The riffs, as said before, are very dissonant and fast, with not being overused and overly intrusive to the atmosphere, and instead, add to its hectic, angry, and violent atmosphere. There are 12 songs here, all which clock at the short time of 24 minutes- but all of them are compressed with top tier musicianship, a very angry atmosphere, rightfully angsty lyrics, and plain raw kickassery. The music here sounded like nothing made before, combining Voivod-y riffs with a Slayer approach and hardcore punk to create one of the definite masterpieces of 90s punk. In opposition to some other hardcore punk bands, these guys were super talented. ![]() Before they shifted their style to a more proggy and eccentric fusion of metallic hardcore and a gazillion other genres, Rorschach were an extremely angry hardcore punk/powerviolence band, and with their first album, they definitely managed to create a hellish album of these genres. ![]()
